Argentine football great Diego Maradona was admitted to hospital Monday for medical checks, his personal doctor announced.

“It’s not a serious situation and we didn’t come for an emergency,” Leopoldo Luque told reporters outside the clinic in La Plata, south of Buenos Aires.

Though he gave no details of Maradona’s condition, Luque said his patient would undergo a series of medical check-ups.

A doctor from Hyderabad was rescued from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh a day after he was allegedly kidnapped from his clinic here by an inter-state gang, police said on Wednesday.

A disgruntled patient who stalked his dentist with a crossbow, bleach, and plastic sheeting has been jailed for two years after breaking a restraining order against him.

Tom Baddeley, 42, was previously sentenced to prison in August for secretly following orthodontist Ian Hutchinson with a boot full of weapons capable of causing “serious harm” and logging his movements over a four-year period, reports WalesOnline.

Cardiff Crown Court heard Baddeley developed an “obsession” with his dentist Dr Hutchinson while he was a patient of his between 2012- 2016 in Bristol.
